The residential complex New York Concept House is a complex of buildings in the center of Kiev, in the architecture of which the image of the Manhattan quarter was conveyed.
New York Concept House is a few closely standing buildings of different heights in the characteristic New York style.
When we designed the lighting of the facades, we wanted the lighting to cover the entire building, but at the same time be tactful and not totally illuminate all the planes of the walls. Therefore, we chose a “graphical” technique using very narrow two-degree rays that shine horizontally or vertically on different facades. Lamps are very compact and almost invisible on the facade. The rays from them shine with a gliding light, thereby manifesting high-quality textured materials: cast concrete, ceramic brick, ceramic tile. The planes of the facades above the exploited roof terraces are illuminated by flood light. For this, the position of the lamps was found so as not to disturb the residents, and at the same time fully illuminate the space of the terraces with comfort reflected light without installing additional lighting columns. Tactically sliding light illuminated the eaves of the building, for which a special design unit was developed in which lighting devices are hidden. The illumination of the most important upper eaves is also media and dynamically moving, changing shades in a given calm color scheme.
